Our Design Philosophy Typically Follows This Cycle

We use the term typically because every client has different needs. Our design philosophy might change a little from client-to-client and that's OK. These are simply the major milestones that are reached during the design process.

i. Discovery/Zen Moments
We usually meet in person or over the phone for an hour to gather a solid background of what you are looking to create. This is the stage where we will brainstorm together to identify your key components and business needs.

ii. Proposal/Refinement/Signoff
Thurston Ventures will put together a contract for review and set up another time to meet for contract signoff and project kickoff.

iii. Initial Design/Refinement
We will provide a composition (comp for short) that highlights all of your previously discussed thoughts and ideas. You will get a solid understanding of how the website is going to look and feel. This initial design is a rough sketch that addresses layout, style, and color theme.

You will have an opportunity to provide feedback that will mold the final design.

iv. Implementation
Thurston Ventures will implement the design following industry standard development practices. Your website will include the pages agreed upon stated in the proposal, and the necessary add-ons will also be implemented and thoroughly tested.

v. Validation and Delivery
The site will then be extensively tested for broken links and validated against the proper DTD (document type definition) provided by the W3C. Your site will be configured and hosted on a live production machine.
